First order approximation: one who does philosophy. What then is philosophy? Study of the mind? I asked the oracle and it told me that others seem to believe that to be a philosopher requires engagement with "academia". This seems blatantly untrue, or rather, if it is true, than what constitutes "academia" requires reform. I don't want to argue that what I do is philosophy, but it may seem that way from the outside. It's more that, the more I think about it the more I have to accept that what I have been doing has been philosophy in spite of my rejection of such a label. There are people who I view as truly modern philosophers, who may not consider themselves such, and likely would not be called such by others. But when I look at what they do, compared to people who are considered by society at large philosophers the only differentiating fact is recognition of their work. A lack of obscurity can not be part of the definition of what makes a philosopher, truely. I guess the universe doesn't want me to have written what was written in this space previously, since it mysteriously disappeared. frankly I'm not in a mood to restore this line of thought In my mind. If there was a further point, It will have to come back to me adab. .
